Wednesday 26th January 2011 - Littlewoods Liverpool Echo Arena - Backstage:
I had the chance to work backstage at the Littlewoods/Very Fashion show to present all their newly launched product for SS11.
I had to organise the clothing/accessories and dress my beautiful American/Brazilian model, Verena.
The show mixed an array of signature styles including: Heritage, Military, tribal, hippy boho, and pool-side glamour.
The show began with preppy block colour polo's, rayban wayfarers and bleached denim jackets with the males holding rugby balls as props to give it a real college kid edge.
Throughout the show the hemlines fell longer as the maxi and wide leg trouser prove to be a non-mover in the fashion stakes for SS11. With pretty floral trousers and floaty kimono's, styled with stacks of bangles and flower head-dresses over long wavy dip-dyed locks made this style my favourite of the show, and want to run out and buy the entire collection!
Then finally came the 'Poolside Glamour' which flashed a little more flesh, with bright bathing suits, turbans, big shades and 70's style floppy hats, as well as a stunning multi-way midnight blue jumpsuit; which although is a dark colour proved very flattering and indeed glamourous for any forthcoming summer event.
Overall the show was a big success - fireworks/Champagne/Cupcakes.. the lot.
Below are a few sneaky photo's from rehearsal's backstage:
I'd comment on the male models but that would be un-professional...
